As a frequent traveler, I have seen people decorate their luggage and carry-on bags with the iconic Smiley face. You know, the yellow ball with black dots for eyes and a smile. Just like those decorations, my fellow travelers have this smile on their faces, excited to embark on their journeys.
Smiles have boundless power and are highly contagious. Let’s count the ways how our smile is such a mighty force.
1. ) Smiling Keeps Our Physical Well-Being In Check
Several studies have concluded that smiling provides us many physical benefits. How? It strengthens our immune system to protect us from diseases better. It also lowers our blood pressure and our heart rate especially during times of stress. It helps in relieving pain.
Don’t forget that smiling is an instant makeover! It gives us a youthful glow and makes us more attractive!
2. ) Smiling Is Beneficial For Our Mental Health
Smiling helps us to improve our mood. When we grin, the brain is tricked into sending mood-boosting chemicals like serotonin. It also alleviates stress and anxiety.
It essentially aids us in coping.
3. ) Smiling Aids In Forming and Maintaining Bonds
People are drawn towards someone who looks warm and accommodating. Smiling makes us appear likable. Smiling is contagious as well! We automatically mimic their smiles while they are smiling.
When others are happy about something, we can't help but feel happy for them! Want to spread happiness? Give them a smile!
4. ) Smiling Creates A Winning Mindset
Smiling makes us look more awesome than we think we are. It also aids in refocusing our thinking, allowing us to believe that everything is possible. Remember that one of the keys to success is confidence. So, flip that frown upside down for an instant confidence boost!
See? That’s how powerful our smiles are! Happy World Smile Day! What made you smile today? Let me know in the comments.

I've been an inquisitive spirit who loves to wander and wonder since I was a little girl. If something piques my interest, I ask questions related to it and satisfy my curiosity. It can be from people, from books, or a quick Google search. It has always aided me in gaining new knowledge and sharing it with others.
As a result, when I was a cabin crew manager, I always reminded my coworkers not to be scared to ask questions. That way, we could assist one another and solve problems more quickly. It is always a good idea to reach out so that we can learn and help more people.
Asking questions also builds rapport! It could just be a simple, “How are you?” but it opens us to make deeper connections. It sparks our conversations and allows us to discover more about the people around us. Let’s ask to listen and to learn, in order to create meaningful bonds.
An American Chef, Anne Burrell, once said, “Part of being successful is about asking questions and listening to the answers.”
Success is not only defined by how many answers we can provide. It is also defined by how many questions and the quality of questions we ask. We develop wisdom and the ability to guide others. Think of it like handing the torch to someone, who then passes it on, and so on.

“Fortune favors the brave,” was a well-known Latin saying that many people adopted as their motto.
This is something I personally believe in. One of the reasons I've been graced with so many blessings in life is that I learned how to take courage. I was well aware that there would be many storms and adversaries. I must confront them if I want to create changes in my life and the lives of others.
Here are four things I’d like to share about courage:
1. ) Courage doesn’t mean recklessness.
We can't just leap out of a plane without a parachute or a safe landing spot when skydiving. We inspect the wind, the equipment, and a variety of other factors. In short, before we take the plunge, let us plan it out first. When venturing into the unknown, make sure we take calculated risks.
2. ) The outcome is not always favorable.
There will be times when we will face rejection. Even so, there will always be a fighting chance. A 1% chance is always better than zero. Know what we can control, and let’s do our best.
3. ) We have to stand alone.
There will be times when people close to our hearts may doubt our abilities. We have to accept that we cannot please everyone, even those we think we can count on. Sometimes the only person we can rely on is ourselves. That’s why self-love is essential.
4. ) Know When To Let Go
One of the difficult things to do is letting go. We have to admit that holding on is causing us more harm than good. So let us take courage to choose ourselves, let go, and believe that better things are on their way.
Courage does not mean the absence of fear. It is knowing our fears but still choosing to overcome them. It means we are ready to confront both positive and negative consequences with a smile in our hearts!
