There are times I log in to social media and see people arguing online. I see it in my newsfeed. People are debating about celebrities and defending their favorite actors and actresses. Some would even insult their favorite boy groups, and enjoy getting an angry reaction from fans.
It sometimes gets petty. Some people would do “doxxing” or reveal the other party’s private information.
What should we do? We can hide posts, unfollow people and pages, or probably unfriend and unlike them. After all, we can customize what we see in our social media accounts. We may tailor it to our liking, and only get updates from those genuinely important to us.
We can see ourselves growing with every photo we post on social media. I enjoy going through my Facebook memories. It's like a trip down memory lane. I reminisce about the people and the moments, and compare how much I had grown from years before to now!
Cyberspace is still our space. We can fill it with things we like, things that make us happy, and for which we are grateful. We can also use it to keep the memories we made with our family and friends.
Conflict is unavoidable. However, conflict cannot exist without our participation. So, if you desire peace, pick your battles wisely and avoid petty ones.
Consider the butterfly effect. Will it matter in five days? In just five months? After five years? If not, do not jeopardize your mental health for something that might not be worth it.

Each of us has a reason for being in this place and at this time. But here comes the tricky part. Many of us have no idea why we are here. Many of us had no idea what this crazy thing called "life" was all about.
When we enter the workforce, we might have struggled in finding our calling while doing our jobs. Or maybe turn our calling into our bread and butter. A job is something that puts a roof on our heads, and pays off our needs and wants.
A calling is something that gives meaning to one's life. It may not be as financially rewarding as a job for some, but it certainly fills our hearts and spirits.
Finding a calling that benefits you emotionally and brings food to the table can be mind-boggling. Even so, we should not discard our dreams just for the sake of practicality. It's not an easy road. It might take time. We might have responsibilities and other more important things to focus on. And that is valid!
Finding your calling has no set deadline.
For example, me. It took me almost three decades before I had finally decided to clip my wings, and do what my heart has been telling me to do. If we do something we love, everything else will follow, such as fame and fortune.
I hope we all find what keeps our fire alive. Let’s live a life ignited!

As someone who has worked in the aviation industry for 27 years, I am proud to see how far aviation has progressed. Ever since we first learned to fly, we have worked hard to harness the power of the skies to create a great future for our civilization.
After all, flying had functioned as a means of progress. It connected people from all over the world, resulting in stronger bonds, wonderful encounters, numerous business prospects, and much more.
The sky is a reminder that the world is vast. But we are endlessly reminded that the sky’s the limit, and our imagination could lead us into the greatest, life-changing idea we could think of. Like the little boy, Russell, from the movie, Up said, “Adventure is out there! ”. Then he proceeded to reach the skies and have the biggest adventure.
Mankind had gone a long way to conquer the clouds. We, too, have reached our own skies in our own efforts. Flying should feel weightless and free. We shouldn’t focus on the people and things that are putting us down if we wish to go up!
It might take some time for us to take off. But, just as pilots and cabin crew train to operate aircrafts, we must also train for ourselves! Before we could eventually fly out there, we needed to discover what to alter, do our research, study, and prepare for check flights.
Once we have taken off, let us teach others how to spread their wings and enjoy their flight.
The aviation industry taught me a lot of life lessons. It shaped me in several ways. At first, I was just flying in a large metal tube in the sky. Little did I know, I was actually preparing to fly towards who I am today!
Happy Civil Aviation Day! We have gone so far! Let us live a life ignited.
