Hello, everyone!
Last Friday, we launched our Hybrid Wellness Retreat Experience. That’s why we had to reschedule Episode 11 of Wellness Angel Channel to Wednesday so we could recalibrate. I consider Nature Wellness as something close to my heart. How can we take a break from the rat race? By re-energizing with nature!
I briefly talked about Shin Rin Yoku or “forest bathing”. I also cited scientific studies from Healthline and Lee Chambers. I shared stories about the retreat and even invited Lyra for a call so we could hear about her experience as well.
Scientific studies show that nature wellness impacts us positively. According to Healthline, the benefits are facilitated by not just visual stimuli but also by other senses like hearing and smell. See? Being one with nature helps us incorporate every one of our five senses.
When we talk about nature, the first thing that pops up in our minds is the forest or the fields. Just like what I did last Friday, I drove an hour or from Manila to Malvar, Batangas. We held our retreat at JG Barns by Suscipe Farms. It was a 3-day nature immersion. I often do sessions indoors. Yet this one felt different from the other sessions I had.
How? The cool breeze blows into our faces in the open fields. We hugged ourselves and even trees. We even meditated while it was raining and saw the tiny details of the grass. Through meditation, guided mindfulness, nature walks, and organic food, it felt like Mother Nature orchestrated everything. We’re just going with her flow.
It was a different sense of calm, peace, and joy.
As much as we should slow down and feel one with nature for a while, we can’t simply travel far to go to fields and forests sometimes. Here are some of my tips to be one with nature without going out too far!
Watch the skies. - During the morning, watch the clouds. Let your imagination run free, and enjoy the shapes clouds make. Then by nighttime, observe the moon and the stars. Embrace the moonlight and maybe spot a constellation or two!
Cuddle your pets - Hugging them feels like hugging Mother Nature.
Visit your local park - Local parks are a great way to relax and observe nature.
Take a walk outside - Being cooped up for too long is no good. Stepping out for 30 minutes will do wonders.
Take care of an indoor plant - Taking care of a plant is fulfilling. It allows you to have that bit of Mother Nature even in the comfort of your home.
Nature Wellness builds up our well-being. It enriches us, nourishes us, and recharges us. It is important to take time and enjoy nature in its purest form.

Hello, everyone! I am so glad to be back doing this series regularly since my month-long break!
For the 10th episode of the Wellness Angel Channel, my good friend, Lyra Sanchez, and I tackled Customer Service. I gave her a call and invited her to be our guest! She’s the CEO and Founder of Sanchez Realty Services. Since we both had long years of experience dealing with all sorts of clients, we discussed how to use wellness for customer service.
I am no stranger to customer service. I was in the aviation industry for 27 years. Let me share this one instance during my time as a cabin manager.
There was this French passenger who was traveling with his family — seated in business class. For some reason, the couple were being difficult as they boarded the aircraft no matter what my crew did. So I had to jump in and figure out what was going on. The father told me that they lost one of their bags which contains all their important documents while touring on their second day. And they decided to cut their trip short after getting exhausted going back and forth to the embassy so they could travel back.
When I told my crew about their unfortunate experience, the energy exchange inside the cabin immediately shifted. Both my crew and the passengers treated each other with respect and kindness. It is important to know, understand, and give more room for patience. Remember the iceberg theory? Humans only deal with the things we visually perceive.
Lyra and I shared three things to give better customer service.
First is problem prevention. Customer service is like putting out fires. As we gain experience, we also learn ways to prevent fires. We must choose people who are positive, kind, and easy to work with. For those challenging ones, let us practice more patience and compassion. After all, we’re building relationships.
The second is look for a mentor. The right mentor will ensure you learn something from a difficult situation that they're familiar with and provide you with insights and tools on how to deal with them.
The third is meditation. Meditation allows us to be mindful. We become more centered, and more in control. We also gave a summary of Mindvalley’s Six Phase Guided Meditation. Its main target is corporate people, especially those in sales and customer service.
Phase 1- Love and Compassion. The true essence of people is love. We are all capable of love, which emits compassion.
Phase 2 - Happiness and Gratitude. It is powerful if we wake up and start our day grateful and happy. It will fuel us for the rest of the day.
Phase 3 - Peace and Forgiveness. This can be difficult to do. Let us not forget to forgive ourselves for something we have done to others and to ourselves.
Phase 4 - Vision For the Future. Be definite. Visualize exactly where we want to go. Dreams will remain dreams if we don’t give them any details.
Phase 5 - Mastering Your Day. Action is also important. Let us work on our dreams and grow as we go.
Phase 6 - Support and Blessings. Believe in a Divine Source and connect with it for support and blessings.

So glad to be back after taking a month-long break because of Covid!
Let’s all look back on the last episode of the Wellness Angel Channel last Monday about Quiet Quitting.
Quiet Quitting has become prominent with Millennials and Gen Zs. In this episode, my son, Mikey Alberto, joined us. Mikey is blazing his own trail in e-sport psychology as a coach and analyst. He is currently taking up a Masteral degree in Psychology in Ateneo de Manila. We discussed what we read, shared our insights about it, and even called one of our viewers to answer their questions.
What does Quiet Quitting mean? For me, that is when we start acting like robots carrying out commands. Heart is no longer needed because we find no meaning in our work.
What makes a person start quiet quitting? Here are the top causes we enumerated:
1.) Breached Boundaries
The pandemic made people start working from home. It had blurred the lines between work and home. Since we are online most of the time, some bosses tend to call for us beyond working hours. The lack of boundaries can be our stressor.
2.) Unrelated work from the agreed job description
Sometimes we are forced to take on tasks beyond our area of expertise. For instance, a content moderator was asked to handle digital marketing. We would simply take it and do it to preserve harmony and prevent repercussions.
3.) Unfair workload
How our superiors and colleagues treat us can affect the quality of our work. If we feel like the workload is unfair, it impacts our mental health and how we view our co-workers.
4.) Lack of purpose
People do not just work for financial motivation alone. Our reason for working and giving our all is one way to live a fulfilling life. If our work does not make our hearts soar, it becomes lackluster. Like I said earlier, we'll be like robots on auto-pilot.
Quiet quitting has a domino effect at work. Any abrupt changes can be alarming to an extent. It may disrupt the normal flow of operations. Businesses should consider how to keep and care for their employees. There is no one-size-fits-all.
How can we get out of this sticky situation? First, we need to pause and sit down. Take the time to identify what has been bothering us and the possible solutions.
Next, explore possibilities. The first step toward self-love is exploration. Know our strengths and weaknesses. Learn new things. Whatever makes you happy and gives you a deeper meaning.
From there, find a job you will love and will love your back. A job that gives us a reason to smile and get excited when we wake up in the morning. We all deserve that.
